First After Effects Writing

1.Firstly an image of a book was imported into After Effects.
2.A new text layer was placed on top with a handwriting font chosen and colours to suit ink. The layer was set to add to the book layer below, so the colour and texture of the book had an effect on the text.
3.Next, using the mask pen tool, the text was carefully drawn over as if it was being hand-written. One long path was drawn that would write the letters as if they were real.
4.Next a stroke effect was applied to the text and the end position was key-framed. This gave the effect that the text was gradually more visible as time went on along the path. Because of how the mask path was drawn, it gives the effect the text is being hand-written.
5.The opacity was then key-framed to fade-out later on the timeline.

@BlackFairy988 Not sure, I woudln't have thought so, its not something you can easily do in any Video Editing software, SFX programes like After Effects allow you to do this frame by frame. Download a trial from Adobe to see if you like it?

@rapprhyme An hour or so tops, obviously the more text you have, the longer it will take. This is a simple sequence to illustrate how it is done, and it is an easy technique, just can be time consuming if you plan to do a whole book!
