DULUTH -- The Duluth Police Department raided a controversial downtown Duluth business, seizing dozens of items from designer drugs to firearms.
"We had 15 city police officers come in with a search warrant and raid our store."
The Duluth Police Department closing and raiding the popular yet contested Last Place on Earth in Duluth just after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
Confiscating more than a dozen rifles and box after box of designer drugs.
It's a bitter pill for some customers to swallow.
"People do what they do if they want to smoke it they can and honestly from my opinion, I don't obviously, but I know a lot of people, my friends that do, but I don't think it's a big deal," said customer Briana Roberts.
"They took all of our incenses, all of our cash, and they're trying to grab all of my hunting guns," said Last Place on Earth owner, Jim Carlson.
The department executed a search warrant as part of an on--going investigation into the sale of illegal synthetic marijuana, a product Last Place owner Jim Carlson calls smoke able incense.
But it's not just the removal of the synthetic drugs and firearms that frustrates the controversial shop owner.
Carlson says he's being targeted.
"They've also grabbed my computer, which they've seized all of the information that my attorney sent me over the years fighting this litigation."
Believing his rights have been violated.
"So I just think it's an ongoing harassment, seizing of money, seizing of product."
The head shop re-opened just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Duluth Police have not released any additional information.
Oh the poor owner lost everything. Hunting guns, year right. It should be close down for good!!
