Note: This is a detour of Q452 due to a CSX collision just South of Callahan, FL on the Nahunta Sub, resulting in an out-of-the-way detour for this train, going as far West as New Orleans, LA and as far North as Birmingham, AL. I was very surprised to see Q452 "R452" in New Orleans, and when the train stopped for a few minutes, I talked to the crew and asked what their symbol was and when they said it was R452, I didnt believe it, so I asked them again. They informed me that it was indeed R452. I asked if it was a Q452 re-route, they confirmed that it was and that it was due to a CSX collision just South of Callahan, FL involving a coal load and a mixed freight. The crew also informed me that the train will take NS from New orleans, LA to Birmingham, AL then back to Waycross, GA.

  • Wow, amazing how a train going to Waycross managed to find it's way to New Orleans, i'm sure that didn't cost CSX much money :/ Lol

  • @NahuntaSubFoamer5115 I agree, goes to show you how important the Folkston Funnel is.

  • any info on the derailment or news station that carried it???

  • @acl109 I dont know, I just heard about this from the crew. They said it was a rear ender just about a mile South of Callahan. Mixed freight ran into the rear of an empty coal train. I will try to find any news articles.

  • Sweet video but there seem to be alot of fuckheads there

  • @distantsignalcsx Thanks. I agree.

  • @acl109 There was no derailment.

  • @1998ChevroletS10 I agree, they should have kept their dog on a leash.

  • @AmtrakSilverStar well thats there problem not yours but if was them next time that dog would not be with me any more

  • @murjax Yeah, all trains going through the funnel had to take a detour around the mess. This train probably took 3-4 days when it normally takes only one day to complete its journey.
