Please read the book "Lust for Life" by Irving Stone. That is the story of Vincent Van Gogh's life. You will understand this song better. I love this song and every time I hear it I can feel Vincent's struggle for being accepted and for surviving this cruel shallow world. Yes, they would not listen, they aren't listening still - perhaps they never will...
