Wonderful! It must be incredibly fun. I fantasized about falconry as a young man after reading a book called "A Sporting Chance" by Daniel P. Mannix. In it, he hunts with falcons, hunts ducks with a boomerang (which would be illegal in the US today) and even hunts coyotes with a trained pet mountain lion.

Yes, the kestrel is completely free and goes after whatever she wants, or doesnt go after anything on somedays.
