I just had to try this substitute for expensive makeup primer recipe. The "ingredients" are regular flavor Milk of Magnesia ("MOM") and Monistat Chafing Powder Gel. I put the "MOM" in a spray bottle. Although I like the spray bottle, you can't control where it lands but I can deal with that. Allow it to dry before applying the Chafing Gel. The "MOM" application may appear "white & pasty" but that is fixed when the Chafing Gel and makeup are applied. The Monistat Chafing Gel Powder makes my skin feel velvety smooth.
I'm getting ready for work and only wear basic day makeup.
Makeup Application
I have skin discolorations due to adult acne breakouts and perhaps for not using a Bluetooth hands free device with my cell phone. But I digress. I am using the Maybelline Liquid Mousse makeup in Cocoa. I like to apply it over the dark spots like a concealer. Once it dries, I add another layer for more coverage. This is a great makeup to be a drug store brand. The souffle cream foundation gives even better coverage.
Lip Color
I am using one of my $2.50 e.l.f. 2 n 1 Conditioning Lip Glosses. I've tried and LOVED other $1.00 e.l.f. glosses but was surprised when the 2 n 1 was very tacky and gummy. I had to use a tried and true model's trick, inserting my finger in my mouth, to remove the excess lip gloss (or lip stick) to prevent it from getting on my teeth.
Makeup Setting/Finishing Spray
I like to use a finishing spray. I have both Model in a Bottle and Urban Decay's All Nighter. Both are great but I prefer Model in a Bottle. Neither burns or stings.
Wow you did a great job, your makeup looks so smooth and pretty. I really want to try the MOM as a primer but i have mostly dry skin with a few slightly oily areas, generally nose and forehead, I guess I have "T" Zone combonation skin, so I've been told to stay away from mom, that it would dry my skin considerably......any suggestions? thanks in advance

@SabrinaBree1 Thank you. Hmmm. . . I like over the counter products a lot. You may want to check out Neutrogena Healthy skin "Intensive" moisturizer or perhaps something by Aveeno. Be sure to read the labels to ensure it's what you need for your skin type.
I appreciate your watching!

You have beautiful skin!!! And I'm going to be trying the monistat as a primer so hopefully it works for my combination skin with is also sometimes acne prone ...I recently bought the MAC primer since I use all MAC products but all it did is break me out so your video really gave me an idea! Oh and just a tip i think the Clinique even better makeup will work wonderful for your skin ! Much better then the one you already have plus it actually improves your skin texture !

@Colombianitax23 Thanks. I hope the products work for you.
I've used Clinque's skincare but I've never tried Clinique makeup.

If you just use MOM, do you also need MCGP? or have you tried MOM by itself and it still works? because I have acne prone skin and I heard MCGP isn't recommended for acne prone skin :/

@ElayneGloomybear I've not heard about MCGP not being for acne prone skin. Given it's original purpose, I would be interested to know what ingredient would be a no no for acne prone skin. But I do think one could use MOM alone. The MCGP gives a velvety texture to my skin. Let me know if you find out something different.
