good ole tune from yesteryear i think i was about 4 or 5 when this 1st came out used to go from Middlesbrough to Stockton market on the 55 united bus i used to always break out in song when we went over Victoria bridge from Thornaby in to Stockton probly cos the river Tees was yellowish polluted to fuck in those days

The truth is, it is The TREMELOES who recorded this music track. They found J Christie, signed him to their publishing company, then recorded "Yellow River", (written by Christie) for release on CBS. They then changed their minds, as they wanted to write & record their own material, so they then dubbed Christie's voice on their track and formed a band ( incl Alan Blakley's brother) to front it. FORTUNATE decision for J Christie - UNFORTUNATE decision for the Trems
