guitar lesson for the intro to Jeff Beck's "You Know What I Mean". This is the opening tune to Jeff's album "Blow by Blow" and this riff was heavily influenced by James Brown's funky guitar players. All dominant type chords here, 13ths, 9ths, and 7ths. Make sure you're muting the strings between chords to keep unwanted notes from ringing.

  • Very Nice!

I didn't realize how much more there was to this riff. Of course I haven't played nor listened to it in ages.

Great funk and the absolute beginning of fusion.

Seems Jeff was the pioneer at the absolute beginning of most modern guitar styles!

  • That's a killer groove! One of the most underrated Jeff Beck tunes too.
