#2 or #5 are my fav. I usually use a Beta 52 but will look into the Sennheiser. The D6 is good for specific styles but is not versitile to my ears.

funny..I usually put in just inside the hole (5) and take off some around 200, but looking at the graph it's a bad place to put it if you dont like 200k. Middle of the shell!! Thanks.

3rd is not correct: the mic position is near the key of the skin: in this position you have less sound due the node of the skin.

hey did you guys put any dampening stuff in the bass?!
in case you did what and how much and where did you placed it

@007seppy It is only one towel rolled together and put at the batter head. The batter as well as the resonant head was a Powerstroke 3 so this also includes dampening.

Hi, the mic you see (but not hear) is an AKG C414 TL II. This test was only recorded with an e602 inside the drum without any effects or EQ's to demonstrate the large effect of positioning. Cheers
