  • The Lincoln, Memorial Reverse penny (mid 1982 to present) weighs 2.5 grams. 1 dollar is 100 pennies. 2,167.50$ is 216,750 pennies, weighs 541.88kg, a bit more than half a ton so to speak.

If it's the Lincoln, Memorial Reverse penny (1959 to mid 1982), it weighs 3.11 grams a penny or 675kg.

  • 2 thousand dollars for a book?

  • is that matt macarthy?

  • @steamingpoopfart Better jail those running the toolbooths, I guess. Practically speaking, if nothing else, there are at least some exceptions that don't seem to lead to jail time. Check out "Penny debate in the United States" on Wikipedia for details.

  • Iam pretty sure the pennie is still legal united states currency if you refuse to take them you can go to jail.

  • So pennies arent cash?

  • omfg one of those two foot boxes holds ten bucks?
