Is this normal or something I should have Canon take a look at? The movement appears to be the image stabilization reacting to the auto focus.

  • What? It just shows you where you have focus. It cant determine if you have focus on a plain white surface, so when you enter the black area, the camera can determine if its in focus, which it is here.

  • Make sure you turn off image stabalization if the camera is on a tripod.
