It was a historic night at Jack Anderson Stadium to open the 2009 season and the Scotties made sure not to disappoint the home crowd. Tri-Valley debuted its newly resurfaced field with plenty to cheer about.
Tri-Valley outgunned rival River View 24-0 to open the season, compiling 250 yards through the air and three touchdowns. Senior Clay Cameron finished 13-for-19 passing, while Casey Williams totaled five receptions for a game-high 81 yards.
The Scottie defense limited the Black Bears to just 130 yards of total offense. Brien Conrad led River Views run-oriented attack with 74 yards on 17 carries.
The game was called in the fourth quarter due to lightning.
