We were invited by a Kenyan friend of ours who is of the Ndruma Tribe, who live on the Mombasa coast, to a special welcome feast in his village. After a three hour journey by boat from Mombasa Island South through creeks into Kwale district, we landed at a mangrove covered area and were welcomed by all the villagers complete with band and dancers. They had killed a goat in our honour and the fresh goat skin was still hanging from a tree when we got there. This was a very rare privelage and an enjoyable experience, as it was not put on for the benifit of tourists, but especially put on for us as friends. Unfortunately my video had packed up so the photos do not do the atmosphere full credit.

Sorry I haven't answered before; the song is Hakuna matata, by Safari Sound Band.

  • Hey was just wondering what is that song in the video?

  • The presentation was excellant. Lovely to see my sister. Very special and enjoyable. Maisie.
