Bach arranged a number of Vivaldi concertos for organ. The original is Vivaldi's Concerto grosso, Op. 3/11 RV565.

Beatiful! You play really well, compliments to all 4. Great fugue, great Vivaldi, great 'Estro Armonico'!!

@creativitycorner well baroque counter point is perhaps more mechanical than Chopin, Brahms, Rachmaninoff or Liszt
-
@Uranus1964 l assume you can do better?
-
Lovely, and I think quite musical.

Fantastic performance, thanks a lot for your wonderful vids!

@frettedstrings1 Read the uploader comments - the bass and alto are in G instead of F so that all instruments can play SATB music down a fourth.

Your group should come to america and show the people in america that a recorder is not a child's instrument.

Beautiful bass
i would expect more from you guys: it's too mechanical in respect to the theme. too simplistic interpretation (black & white). All that doesn't help to the overall atmosphere

You might want to listen to the cd version, maybe it pleases you more. Aeolus AE - 10136
And at the end: Everybody it's own idea of musicality.

Is this done at 6-ft?
GlenShannon 4 years ago 5
Dear Glen,
Indeed this is played in the so called 6ft register. For those who don't know, this means playing SATB fingerings on a consort consisting of g-alto, tenor, g-bass, and C-greatbass.
This way the normal 4foot high register is avoided to have a more adult sound and character.
The low instruments used here are made by Friedrich von Huene. The alto is by Peter van der Poel (Netherlands)
all the best,
Tom B
