Keep up the great work exposing the High Society Clubs for what they really are, and you are doing what you were taught by "The Teacher" to do! Eph6:10Finally,be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

This man is sad... he actually believes that success is the only way to God and Jesus in Heaven...
Well then people... do we read the scriptures? do we ponder the fact that Jesus was attacked in this very same way... by the so-called church leaders (Priest, Pharisees, High Priest, etc)
Can we remember all the names these High society members called Jesus? Jesus warned us that this would still be taking place in our time... the High ranking society members (Priest, and so on) will not change!

Properly speaking, the phrase "Looked upon a woman w/ lust" is talking about a will to commit sin, which is different then temptation.

When the adulterous woman was brought before him he exposed the hypocrisy of those accusing her but then instructed her to go thy way and sin no more. He didn't say hey it's ok you can do whatever you like Im handing out free sin passes. She had to repent and acknowledge her sin in order to be forgiven. We covenant to obey Christ and serve him. If we say that we know him and walk in darkness we are liars. 1 John 1:6-7

And then of course Shawn reminds us he is just as lost and confused as Ed. We come unto Christ and we recognise our sinful state. We then take upon us the name of Christ and repent of our sins and determine that we will do our best to walk in the light with him and overcome the world through him. Christ said repent or perish. He said if you love me keep my commandments. It's conditional upon our contrition.

This just makes us seem like shallow deceptive hypocrites. Is it any wonder that people say were not christian. Why didn't he just admit that yes he has struggled with lust and overcoming the natural man. We overcome the natural man through Christ and the enticings of the Holy Ghost. It's a common battle for all mankind. We are by nature carnal sensual and devilish.

What is important to see is that Paul’s mention of baptism for the dead in verse 29 is one of this series of arguments introduced to serve his purpose of defending the reasonableness of resurrection. The real question to ask then is, who is it at Corinthians that is practicing baptism for the dead, and do they and the practice have the apostle’s approval?
