Kevin plays the traditional three part double jig, The Battering Ram. The video kicks in a little late, at the end of the first rep. of the first part. Kevin is playing a small flute with an ivory head, probably a Bb flute, from the last half of the 1800s.

  • Not a fife. A simple system flute in F.

  • Did I say Bb? Brain fog.

Yer spot on. F flute 'tis.

  • Fife

  • Wonderful to hear Kevin play again!

  • Judging by the spread of his hands and also the sound (and from playing along) it's an F flute Kevin is playing, for sure. A Bb would be much smaller (and higher sounding!). Nice clip.
