This is truly a fine performance. I'm blown away by the beauty and expressiveness of her playing. Just super. Thank you!

Un instrumento bello y de muy buen sonido de J. Wopaterni segun se puede leer. Probablemente posterior (más allá de 1830?) a la fecha de la composición de la sonata

@ritschardt you're actually wrong. Beethoven's piano and those similar to it were called the fortepiano. Less keys, different action, and many other differences. The modern piano is called the pianoforte.

@ritschardt Actually, the term "fortepiano" is used now a days to indicate an early piano or copy there of. In the 18th century the term "fortepiano" was used as well as pianoforte. I have a first edition of a Mozart piano concerto which plainly reads for "clavecin ou fortepiano".

@ritschardt Actually, "fortepiano" is an accepted generic term for any "early" piano (or copy). It is used to distinguish a performance on a period instrument rather than a modern, say, Steinway. I have a fortepiano which is a copy of a Dulcken piano from c. 1790. I always refer to it as a "fortepiano" although, technically, yes, it is a pianoforte.

Bravo! Sometimes the Waldstein is not absolutely my favorite and recently succumbing the playfulness of Haydn's sonatas I thought that pure new ground had to be in the direction of 'Papa.' But your performance on this magnificent instrument reminds me that the Waldstein's intricacies often get lost because of familiarity. Great muscular grace is demonstrated. Danke.

Was the dog bark part of the performance?....

Wow, great in B major ;)
Sorry to be picky ,this beautiful performance is actually played on a pianoforte an earlier version of the modern instrument the word for this type of instrument in the English language is pian forte or just plain piano there is no such thing as fortepiano. BTW what is the instrument it looks 1830s Viennese.

@ritschardt Agreed. For some reason I don't know in Italian the word Fortepiano is used for what in English is called pianoforte. And to make it even weirder, when they talk about a modern piano, they call it a Pianoforte!
