I think this was the first solo assault from the Straight Creek (Big Piney) side on a Mountain Bike. Sept 21, 2011. I also believe that I'm the only person crazy enough to have climbed the Peak on a Motorcycle (360 Husqvarna in 1980) on foot (numerous occasions last in 2004) and on a Mountain bike (2011). The view is spectacular! Wyoming Peak sits at 11, 363 ft and the trail head at Straight creek is about 8000 ft. The Peak was used in the 1940-60's as a look out for forest fires, but the building, bunks, tables, radios are long gone...stolen or blown down the mountain. You can sure feel the solitude, serenity and God's touch overlooking the vast landscape. But don't take my word for it! Come up yourself, journal in the log book and see what very view people have every witnessed! A shout out to my Dad who took me up here the first time, my lovely wife who witnessed the successful motorcycle assault, my brother, Rich, who was also there that day, my son, Charles, who I scared straight in 2004 with our free climb up the face and to Phil and Cody from Boise who I met on the way down! Keep riding! Chas BPHS class of '76.

  • Man I miss it out there. Florida has good biking trails and all but damn it just can't match the view.
