Wait!
Wait!
I've never seen 4 on 1 in the UFC before. So it can't happen in real life!

I agree, like I always said, it only ends on the ground if you let it. And the ninjutsu practitioner's quote is good... but here's another from the founder of my style (shotokan karate-do) "The true purpose of karate does not lie in victory, nor defeat, but in the perfection of the character of its participants".- Funakoshi sensei. That quote and also "Karate Ni Sente Nashi" have been "embetted" in my soul.

@m1dkn1ght shotokan is not fighting art..and machida trains not shotokan for fight.he trains top team gym..did you ask your self if karate works why machida does not stay in his karate gym ,instead of that he pays heaps of money to train in top team gym?because he want get best strikes from muay thai..he muay thai+BJJ to fight..i did not see him using kata when he fight/// you should 11 years old if you belivie shotokan is fighting art

@Freestyleartclub I don't get why you bother comparing styles? That is just such a pointless argument. I hate myself for even going into this with you. I don't get how you're trying to deny Karate. You cannot ever prove that. But I can certainly provide examples of Karate being far from a "waste of time." You should try telling Machida that Karate is "wasting time." It has obviously been of GREAT benefit to them. Compare fighters, not styles. Styles don't fight styles. People fight People.

@m1dkn1ght muay thai better than karate shotokan..how can you compare fighting art with nothing...shotokan is not fighting art..shotokan does not teach you how to fight..those stance air punches kicks just waste of time.. last 20 years people who really interested in martial arts they know that if you want learn self defence and how to fight you need know muay thai strikes and gapling BJJ or Judo...thats all....all other martial arts just wasting time

@Freestyleartclub I like Muay Thai. I like Karate. I like BJJ. I like Judo. I like Western Boxing. I like Wing Chun. I value ALL martial arts and find none to be the end all, be all. Citing the fact that Shogun beat Machida means nothing as far as styles go. It does NOT and CANNOT mean that Muay Thai is "better" than Karate. ALL it can mean is that Shogun was the better fighter that night. It is not the style that is "better" than another, it is the relative skill of the respective practitioners

@Freestyleartclub Unfortunately you just confirmed your own ignorance with this statement. Facts: Chuck Liddel is a black belt in Kenpo Karate (5th Degree) & Koei-Kan Karate. Frank Mir is a BB in Kenpo Karate as well as BJJ. GSP is a 3rd Degree BB in Kyokushin Karate. Machida is a 3rd degree BB in Shotokan. Do they practice Muay Thai as well? Yes. I'm sorry you're so biased. I see things to be learned & valued in every MA style. But to simply deny the effectiveness of Karate is just silly.

shogun fucked him up becuase as well as being a great muay thai fighter, he had to train with the world karate champion for six months to work out ways to counter Lyoto, also machida became too emotional and began acting uncharactisicly and he got rocked for it plain and simple, you cant argue hes good before shogun he was undefeated....guess he was lucky numerous times lol also look up yahara he does secuirty for buisnessmen protecting them from the yakuza but i suppose u could kick thier ass
-
@hextacy1 gyaku zuki my ass//do not be stupid///thats why shogun fucked him out...karate shotokan is not martial art...
-
@Freestyleartclub If ignorance is bliss then you are in total nirvana.
If you closely watch Machida you see a lot of his karate training his non punch fist go’s to his hip, he does jun zuki Punches aka (jab) you can see him twist his wrist as he makes contact with his opponent, his stance and the way he moves and pivots is relative to jyu ippon kumite ,he does mawashi geri and mai geri kicks (textbook Shotokan) using the exact technique we lean and train doing every day .
-
@m1dkn1ght its like trying to talk to a brick wall they will not and never belive about the effictivness of techniques and kime
karate is better off without those people who we need to explain ourselves to.
-
so where is the master in this video? Lots of black belts that don't know sh.t and can't move is all I could see
In other words MuayThaiStrong, everything you said is entirely the opposite of what is actually true of Karate. Look at Lyoto Machida, George St Pierre, and Chuck Liddel who all have a karate background of some sort.

Frank Mir also traditional karate background. It is interesting that traditional Karate practioners are now the Dominate force in UFC.
