My mom and her best friend loved all things Petula Clark; we grew up with her music and whenever I hear it, I remember picnics at her best friend's house with our entire families coming together. I miss those times and those people SO much! You always think life will stay that way forever, but it doesn't.

Love the sitar.

Ahhh, thank you for clearing that up. The composer (Mills?) had the horns and drums exactly like Tony Hatch's template for what I (and possibly others) refer to as "Big Beat" music. Few people were writing like Hatch. "I Know A Place", for example, has parallel major chords in the verse section (like the bridge of Alex North's "Unchained Melody"). Not a day goes by, that I don't marvel at that song, and think, "Why isn't Hatch as renowned at George Martin?"

How about a tour of some great scenes of this planet we live on, accompanied by some great songs? Start here, then Johnny Mathis "All the Things You Are", Jennette McCurdy " Me With You", Sarah McLachlan "Rainbow Connection", finishing with Linda Ronstadt "Somewhere Out There". Feel free to add other stops to the tour.

@KrisTianbull1 You seem to be in a bad mood. Get yourself a big bar of Hershey's Special Dark and chill!
Another great collaboration between Petula and composer/arranger Tony Hatch. Only Burt Bacharach could write "big beat" music on the same glorious level as Hatch. (Did Tony Hatch write "It's Not Unusual" for Tom Jones?)

@professortheremin- no according to wikipedia: "It's Not Unusual" is a song written by Les Reed and Gordon Mills, first recorded by a then-unknown Tom Jones after having first been offered to Sandie Shaw."

I just had to listen to this song again. This is a great song to listen to over and over again. Too bad today's music can't be this good.

I loved this song when it first came out in the 60s. The video posted with this is fantastic.
