El Greco paintings

El Greco ("The Greek", 1541-1614) was a painter, sculptor, and architect of the Spanish Renaissance. He is regarded as a precursor of both Expressionism and Cubism. His work, along with those of Goya, Picasso, Dali and Velázquez, are considered the epitome of Spanish painting.

Ο Δομήνικος Θεοτοκόπουλος (1541-1614), γνωστός επίσης με τo ιταλικό προσωνύμιο El Greco, δηλαδή ο Έλληνας, ήταν Kρητικός ζωγράφος, γλύπτης και αρχιτέκτονας της Ισπανικής αναγέννησης. Αναγνωρίστηκε ως πρόδρομος της μοντέρνας τέχνης που αξιοποίησε στοιχεία της Ανατολικής και Δυτικής παράδοσης και τα έργα του, μαζί με εκείνα των Γκόγια, Πικάσο, Νταλί και Βελάσκεθ, θεωρούνται ως η επιτομή της ισπανικής ζωγραφικής.

To be honest, i didnt like El Grecos paintings until i saw the best of his paintings in Prado - Spain.

He is really unique and great painter, his colours, his themes, his whole art is great, and the paintings are huge, really enjoy watching them.

I dare to say that his paintings are unnique through Prado.

The movie El Greco was an awesome movie about a painters freedom of expression and how he saw the Spanish inquisition no matter the penalty of being burned alive.

also propably my teacher wanted to say that e graiko became a bad word between turks,like when we call a gipshy or an albanese or whatever
