Government-workers unions have been political juggernauts in the U.S. since the collective bargaining rights revolution of the 1960s and 70s. In this video, Daniel DiSalvo exposes how these unions have created cartels with their political allies, mostly in the Democratic Party, to the detriment of the taxpaying public.

  • @urbanverificationist Thank you for your hard work. I've studied unions, actually, in several capacities. I work with unions daily. Friends and relatives are in unions. I even have unions as clients, so I know exactly what their goals are. The day that the most productive union member does more equivalent work than the most productive non-union member, give me a call; I'll drop dead. Unions served a purpose in the 1800's. Now it's time for them to go away and let America compete again

  • @VeryEvilPettingZoo No, us conservatives are pro-choice on unions. If a new employee wishes to join a union, its their business. They shouldn't be forced, not compelled.

And public unions are sheer folly. Even FDR was against them. The Left has become so extreme that today Franklin Delano would be branded a member of the Tea Party.

With vastly over payed corporate executives, regulations that go a bit too far and a complete lack of trade protections. I really want to see us compete against 75 cent/hour work from China. Oh wait! Regardless of unions or not, you cannot expect to compete without some form of tariff. That is unless we all want to work for pennies with no safety/environmental regulations or labor laws.

  • @GunsNRosesbitches Yes, the ultimate objective of businesses is to maximize profits, and the ultimate objective of the private business is to maximize profits for the business owners, and not the workers. Worker Owned businesses can do everything private businesses can do, only the workers have it better, there's better job security, better pay, and they generally do a better job for their customers (with a few notable exceptions that deserve their impending failure).

  • @Laughingblades I believe the ultimate objective of businesses is to maximize profits. Often times, that will involve actions that are against the interests of the employees but beneficial to consumers. In this way, the reallocation of resources and the direction of capital is used to its most effective manner. Besides, the shareholders own the corporation because they invested their money to it. Hence, corporations, rightfully so, must serve the interests of the shareholders.

  • @GunsNRosesbitches Google the Mondragon Cooperative Corporation, the problems you raise are non-issues.

  • @Laughingblades That sounds nice, but it will be a problem when it comes to efficiently allocating resources. If businesses are owned by employees, then the business will do what is in the interests of the employees (which is not a bad thing), but it will often be at the expense of the consumers. Consumers will pay more for their products because businesses cannot relocate to lower production cost because it is not in the interest of the employees.

  • @NorseWolfe Ahhh point taken, personally I think for profit businesses should be employee owned and democratically run, with elected management, then people would earn according to the profits of their company divided by labor and there would be no outlandish demands. The top down private ownership model separates the workers from the value of their labor, so they may end up expecting more than their labor is worth, and they don't share in the cost and risk equally like they would in a co-op.

  • @Laughingblades Watch the video again. It's not about private sector unions. Private sector unions are fine, because if their demands get too outlandish, the employer can walk away. Public sector unions, on the other hand, can't really lose. And their employers aren't "rich businessmen," they're the government(aka the taxpayers). Every dollar a public union receives comes out of the pocket of regular people. And it's gotten out of control.

  • I belong to a Labor Union, in the private sector. And, I will concede that Government Unions are NO GOOD. At least, my Union is self-sustainable. And, if our benefits package is too large, then it can be modified. In the case of Government Unions, these revisions don't exist. So, if a Government Worker wishes to collect 2 sizable pensions before their 50th Birthday, the Tax Payers pick up the tab. And, you should see how large those union pensions are.

  • @WhiteWeasel420 Hahaha

Truthfully, I work in the IT department for my phone company, my lecherous boss has me managing the place and occasionally letting people know they're laid off so he can still look like the nice friendly boss while he steals most of our earnings to go out and impress his girlfriends.

  • @Laughingblades og you work but WHAT do you work hard at? Hiding feces in "Scabs" Sandwiches?

Unions suck just for the simple way they conduct themselves...it won't be long before some Union member with AIDS infects a "Scab" out of spite with a hypodermic needle or some other insanity..
