In this tutorial I explain basic camera framing, angles and lens choice. I show that lens size really has nothing to do with framing.

  • Please please answer me. I've bought the most expensive camera I could afford, a canon g10, it does not have interchangable lenses however. so, I was wondering, since I don't have the luxury of different lenses, can I achieve pretty much the same effects by simply zooming in and out with the optical zoom? is that the only thing I can do to achieve different perspectives, when not having interchangable lenses to work with or am I missing something?

  • @Toemta yup...zooming in is the same as changing out lenses... you're changing the focal lenght . The only thing that's better about interchangable lenses is that they're usualy faster, have better focusing abalitles etc. but you can still get same effects if you avoid the weaknesses of your built in lens.

  • are you making any MORE videos?

  • @OCUBOX you... check out my channel... i got new videos every week or every 2 weeks. Im adding two more this week. On my main channel and a tutorial on my second channel TomAntosFilms

  • Awesome video tutorials. I just purchased a canon 7d. And I was wondering how do you extend the memory. I have an 8gig and when I shoot 1080p it only last for ruffle 30min. Can I attach a external hard drive? Thanks for the videos they have been very helpful to me.

  • @Layziel No hardrive connection as far as I know. I just simply buy more memory cards swap them as needed. I own 6 16gig cards which is more than enough for a day of shooting.

  • could you make a tutorial on how to actual be a director? as far as directing your actors, how direct you need to be, how prepared you need to be vs when it's ok to practice/try out different camera angles or actions on set with everyone there, what reasonable expectations are for your workers, etc. great videos, thanks for posting.
