i don't care as long as they pick up a top 20 forward in the league give kessel and young kids someone to work with.....kadri will be up there. hope for a better season next year i think it will happen

Wow I remember 2002-2003 season But i thought they were like 8th seeded. Ohh, K cool not that bad.
-

I'd be interested in getting Eric Boulton for limited 4th line use.

I haven't missed your points, you just keep changing your points as I prove the prior ones wrong. I am not happy with the current state of the team however I know it's not Burke's fault. I did not like the Kessel trade when it was made because he was injured at the time and I was concerned that the injury would not heal properly, but it did and Kessel has been great. I do not like the deal now because it could end up being very early picks but as a whole, I like the job Burke has done
-
You've missed my point entirely....but it doesn't matter...I am done with this conversation...you seem to be quite happy with this shit team, and the horrible future that Brian Burke has put it on...I have seen enough...teams with a strong public support system rely on naive fans to follow them w/o question...but I am done with the Leafs...it is after all, only a hockey team..not a country.

Kessel was to become a RFA, Boston was not going to be able to keep him unless Kessel signed for less to stay there, significantly less. Even if I have a skilled player that "held a gun to my head" saying that he wanted to be traded I wouldn't give him away. Peter Chiarelli may have thought that Toronto was going to do poorly but I don't believe he stated it until recently. The Leafs outplayed their opponents in many of their losses but lost due to poor goaltending
-
That isn't the point...the Boston Gm didn't want to trade Kessel; he had to because Kessel demanded a trade...those are the circumstances that made him a Leaf...if one of the players I mentioned held a gun to their GM"s head like that, they would be forced to deal him away in the same manner..and everyone but you and Brian Burke knew the Leafs weren't going to make the playoffs this season....Peter Cirelli even said they thought the Leaf pick would be very high - that is why they made the deal.
-
Under the same circumstances, the Leafs still would not be able to get any of those players for what they gave up for Kessel. Are you saying that If you were Anaheims GM, you would trade Getlaf to Toronto for a full season for 2 first rounds and a second round pick? Not knowing if the Leafs are going to make the playoffs or not? There are not too many other people out there that would make that deal. I would want blue chip prospects or GUARANTEED high draft picks at least.

I would like to see the Leafs pick up Rob Schremp. He is cheap and has the potential to be an offensive threat, 145 pts in 57 games with London.

@go4a24 While I agree that he has potential, the Leafs have potential already. How much potential? That's up for debate. What they need now are proven guys in the 27-31 age range
