Square Premieres Presents: Hancock

Russell and Chris meet Charlize and Willie - and lots of others. They're minus a mic for some of it, but this is live TV. After a quiet month of May, today saw Leicester Square once again overrun by hordes of screaming fans. Giant TV Screens, teams of dancers and miles worth of Red Carpet heralded the arrival of Will Smith. An absolute A-list star with a reputation for showmanship, he certainly wasn't going to disappoint. Friendly, likeable and hugely successful with his acting and music careers, Will's massive popularity was clear from the vast crowds the filled every corner of Leicester Square to catch a mere glimpse of the 'Fresh Prince'. His co-star, statuesque beauty and Oscar winner Charlize Theron, had her own admirers though, looking stunning in a little black dress provocatively split on one side. In fact LSQ TV's own cameraman was so stunned that he asked her to marry him on the spot. She considered the idea briefly and then tragically declined. She did sign autographs for a handful of lucky fans as did the films other star Jason Bateman (best known for recent hit Juno), but it was Will who worked the crowd best. He signed and charmed his way along what seemed like endless rows of ecstatic fans. The sheer scale of the premiere, which took over almost the whole of the square, meant that despite the huge crowds most people had the change to get near enough to get at least a good look at the stars. Although beyond the fabulous cast the celeb count was surprisingly low. The spandex clad cast of TV's Gladiators, comedian Avid Merrion and singer Lemar were among the few in attendance. But it was clearly Will that the people came to see, so nobody seemed to mind.

wow they even had to cut he noise when charlize and will came in because everyone was probably screaming too loud. I bet they're both hard at hearing by now lol. [ charlize touched someones hand randomly at end and will smith kissed some random woman lol]

When you work hard, like Will Smith, and stay true to your craft, regardless of what other artists are doing, you can see the results on this kind of level. Obviously, Will has taken success to new heights, but it hasn't been easy for him. As a fellow Philly Cat, who's been a major fan of Smith since 1986, I admire the man's resilience and persistence. People still forget the fact that he's a pioneer in the music industry and the most successful artist to conquer film, music, and television.

I went to this yesterday, it was mad, as soon as Will came up to the black bridge, everyone screamed there fucking heads off, it was mental. The best day i've ever had by far, and i got a handshake off him :)
