  • If i may,Francois Mingaud created the "Mingaud masse`"which is now a part of the APTSA masse` list.

  • Its a similar dynamic.

  • I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the concept of overspin. Care to explain?

  • i believe skid will be a better word to use in this situation

  • this is dumb!!!! of course there is a residual spin if an english is applied- and depends how much english is applied on the cue ball - until the cue ball stops spinning--- but OVERSPIN--

you're dumb dude -- no such thing as overspin-- spin cause by english on a ball is just a spin that can be transferred from ball to ball

    dumb!!!

  • I say it is top (forward) spin at the first ball. It comes off that ball with (draw) bottom spin which comes (back) to sink the last ball

  • Over-spin is in fact possible, though very hard to impart. Basically over-spin is like burning out in a car, the ball is spinning forward, faster than friction is imparting. Thereby causing a reverse draw effect. If you are successful at imparting over-spin there some rather interesting negotiations of balls you can do by combining it with the stun effect of a fast moving shot. It is like I said MUCH harder than draw to impart and I don't advise trying it with any more distance than in this vid.

  • @PestVic Agreed, playing the carom would be a much simpler shot along withoffering better chance for position after the ball is pocketed

  • Not to down this shot.. but what is the purpose? Is it to show off? Wouldn't It be easier to just carom off the ball into the nine?

  • Haven't read up on it, but have seen the "overspin" term used, but never cared cause top english was always fairly easy to use. But after watching all the way through, I have a question. Is "overspin" like generating "forward draw" where the cue ball is "sliding" with forward spin faster than rolling english? Just like the cue ball spins backwards on draw but forward instead?

  • If the seven ball wouldn't have been der.. Then can this shot be executed?
