After 12 years, I was released from prison on Oct. 16, 1998. On my way home, I heard this song playing on the radio. It is now 10 years later and I haven't sat no more - they haven't put me there no more - it's been 10 years of fine, fine, days. Thanks Tony for giving me words to live by.

One-hit wonder?!? Are you COMPLETELY cripple-headed or are you practicing sarcasm?
That cat's got talent - and 35+ albums (counting the inevitable "collections/greatest hits").

@kubasakiforums Tony Carey had
4 Billboard pop hits (2 Top 40)
3 Billboard mainstream rock hits (2 Top 10)

@Pibbs1 OK ... so it took me a little while to figure out you had replied to me, my bad. Tony Carey never "cracked" the top 20 in the USA, according to billboard. He did have 5 songs that "cracked" the top 100 for at least a week, @rollomaughfling pointed out the other four of them. Tony has been steadily recording progressive/AOR since 1975 and has recorded over 30 albums solo. I guess your definition of a one hit wonder is a little different. 5 is same number of "hits" as Pink Floyd had

@Pibbs1 Why me by Planet P, First day of Summer, there's 2 for you....
-
@polosortsman No, just a special dispensation for you, personally.

@rollomaughfling Thanks for all the info that no one in their right mind could give a shit about. Are you this much of a pedantic ass in person, or is this just your internet persona?

What a sad, depressing video. And I don't mean the fact that it's from the '80s, either. No wonder, then, why life is so gloomy. Still...a powerful song from Tony Carey.

@CillB27 sing it, brother!

@Pibbs1 The generally accepted industry metric of a US hit single (research it) is one that charted in Billboard's Hot 100 for a week or more, not "cracking" the top 20. This one peaked at 22, but stayed on the chart for 15 weeks. Another Tony Carey song deemed a hit? I'll give you four, straight from Billboard:
"Why me?" from Planet P: nine weeks.
"The first day of summer": eleven weeks
"I won't be home tonight": seven weeks
"West coast summer nights": nine weeks
Case reopened ;)

Another one hit wonder ... lol!! Tony Carey, Planet P Project, movie scores, tv show themes .... not to mention a little stint with that other one hit wonder "Richie Blackmore and Rainbow" ...
