One of the projects kare4kenya worked on during their stay in kawangware in the month of August 2007.

The idea was to 1) Clean up the slum area of kawangware 2) Re Use the plastic bags so that from the plastic bags the locals could create beach bags 3) Give a part time job to these parents who have no work...

  • Thanks! It was a real challenge for us and we managed to start this "new business" in one of the slum areas in Nairobi called kawangware...

  • This is a great idea. I save plastic shopping bags to reuse and to use for trash and recycling, but to use them for crochet projects is the best idea I've heard in a long time.
