This is a great idea. I save plastic shopping bags to reuse and to use for trash and recycling, but to use them for crochet projects is the best idea I've heard in a long time.

I crocheted a bag from plastic bags from Tesco, but it disintergrated into a load of flakes! :'(

I heard about this because a friend on swap-bot made me a bag from Walmart bags...it is gorgeous! You'd never know plastic bags were used in it.

Thanks! It was a real challenge for us and we managed to start this "new business" in one of the slum areas in Nairobi called kawangware...
