does it use the 12gram co2 cartridges?

No. It loads CO2 just like Green Gas but you have to use the MadBull CO2 adapter. Arounf $65. I then use a paintball Co2 canister to keep refilling the M203 rounds. Once you use CO2, you will NEVER go back to Green Gas. My opinion.

My XM108HP still works fine. I have not had any problems with it yet but I have only ever shot it about 15 times.

how do you trigger htese?

There is a button on the back the the launcher compresses opening up a valve allowing the gas to escape at high velocity.
