NOTE: This will only work on Game Boy and Game Boy Color Pokemon games. Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS games work on different batteries.

This tutorial will show you how to replace the internal battery on a Pokemon game for less than $5. Replacing the dead internal battery will allow your game to save without erasing your file constantly.

  • If i replace a good batterie will i lose the save data?

    That is, if remove a batterie of a game will it loose all data even if a new one is placed?

  • @gatmcm i have never had to replace my battery yet but yes you will lose the data, ive heard this works to save your data and then after installing the new battery you can restore from backup with the link im pm-ing you

  • It worked for me on wario land 4 it had a cr2015 battery in it but I but a 2025 in it a little cramped but it still saves

  • u should of used the needle nose pliers not ur fingers

  • I had a new 2032 laying around and a pokemon silver with a dead battery. The 2032 works fine with this swap out as well. I'm back up and running.
