Faith Defenders Robert Morey ("Bob Morey Live" radio) & Faith Community Church trashes Walter Martin (founder of the Christian Research Institute & a frequent guest on the John Ankerberg show) on the radio. Morey, who has always claimed to be the "rightful" heir to take Walter Martin's place on the "Bible Answer Man" national radio broadcast instead of the "uneducated high school graduate" Hank Hanegraaff, brings up unflattering details about Martin in response to a question from a listener. Morey elsewhere has repeatedly referred to Walter Martin as a "crooked stick" ("Truth Seekers" radio, 1-15-1994). Although it is not shown in this particular video, Morey has an equal disdain for Christians in general by his following comments: "If there's one problem to which we must trace back the present stupidity, absurdity, and craziness is the fact of gullibility which I call 'gulpibility' ... Christians are gulping down all this stuff ... they never stop to test it ... they just gulp it down like dogs. End result - they are believing the most absurd, crazy, insane things ..." (Morey on the "Bible Answer Man" show as a guest, January 7, 1992), "Well, they're [Christians] being gullible and they're not asking who is this woman, what is her organization, what is her evidence. They're just gullible ... people who like conspiracy theories, you know ... It's this kind of stupidity. It's stupidity brother. It's stupid and it's this kind of stupidity that just embarrasses me - embarrasses the Lord that these people in the name of Christ would say such insane things ... They never give you the address ... they don't give exact dates. Well, did you hear and then people just grab it and they run. They love to believe that conspiracy." (Morey, "Truth Seekers" radio, 2-19-1994), & on the list could go. Because Morey believes Christians are like "dogs" "gulping" down whatever anyone says he himself actually plays on this in his own con artist scams to deceive the Christian public. Whether Morey is making up "conspiracy theories" about so-called embezzlements & secret bank accounts by former workers so he can get sympathy & financial support or if he is claiming he has read "every book in the Library of Congress" to promote sales of his poorly writen books, Morey uses fraud to suit his purposes. Why does Morey engage in these unethical practices? He tells the answer as he sees it, the "stupidity" of the "gullible" Christians which in turn translates into cash donations & book purchases for him. For more information on this go to saintaugustian blogspot (.com); putfile (.com)/ lieutenantcolumbo/media; or for hardcopy pdf documentation go to fileqube (.com) /shfolder/10211vNiXWr. Hank Hanegraaff says Morey is dishonest & unscholarly. Hanegraaff's comments come in reference to a report Morey wrote in his national "Researcher" newsletter attacking Gregory A. Boyd, author of the book, "Oneness Pentecostals and the Trinity." Boyd's book was endorsed by Hanegraaff & the CRI staff. In a letter by Dr. Boyd he states, "..."Truth-Seeker Bob [Morey] to make a long story short, I have never in my life encountered, or even imagined, such blatant malice, deceit, and vile ungodliness -- let alone in someone who taunts himself as a Christian leader. This man, I finally came to see, WAS EVIL. He's a megalomaniac with a vengence, and so far as I can see, not an ounce of honesty or integrity to curb it with. This man is, in my estimation, very bad for Christianity, and very dangerous." The entire letter and other supporting documentation can be found by going to a hard copy pdf site on the internet called fileqube (.com)/ shfolder/10211vNiXWr and look for the report entitled "Recapping Events." Another useful site is the saintaugustinian (.blogspot) with links to multiple internet sites & blogs that expose "Faith Defector" Robert A. Morey for what he really is which adds support & documentation to what Boyd has said.

  • To question Morey's scholarship is almost stupid. Let's hear your specific answers to his FULL statements in his books and lectures. It's apparent to anyone whether you like him or not or agree with him or not, that the man has done his homework & is exceptionally knowledgeable on many subjects. If you deny that then let's hear your valid point rather than 15 & 30 second sound bites that shows the public nothing. Even if you were right, "vengeance is mine saith the Lord"

  • @californiaclaybo We have 58 videos posted on Youtube about Morey & many of them document his poor scholarship (especially concerning Islam). Instead of ranting like a little kid that you want to believe in Santa Claus why don't you check into the facts? Our videos have been posted for years, if they are incorrect, why doesn't Morey sue us in court & have these 58 videos removed from the internet? He can't because he'd lose BIG TIME & that would be more bad publicity for him, get it? Study!

  • I don't know if the accusations he makes toward Walter Martin are true or not.But I love Martin's books and presentations. Whether he"purchased"his doctorate or not,I could care less.I've learned so much from Dr. Martin.People act like you go to college and suddenly you're"enlightened".There are alot of idiots who are college graduates, this guy sounds like one of them. One of the most intelligent people I know didn't even finish 11th grade. This guy Morey needs to quit gossiping.

  • Excellent comment jasondukebaird. We heartily agree. Walter Martin inspired the ministry of Christian Answers of Austin, Texas/ Christian Debater run by Larry Wessels whom Morey also slandered (search CANSWERSTV on Youtube to see some of their apologetics shows; also go to to Yahoo Video & once on their homepage search "Larry Wessels" & about 200 Christian apologetics shows will come up - inspired by Martin). After Morey fled California in March 2009 the last we heard he was in Pennsylvania.

  • Morey is guilty of spiritual pride plain and simple, that is so low to backbite Walter Martin who had already died at that point and went to be with the Lord. Digging up past sins of people after they pass away is not right, especially when He did more to fight cults and error then Morey

  • Well said "cbat36" I agree. Walter Martin inspired a christian ministry called Christian Answers of Austin, Texas/ Christian Debater (their videos on Youtube are under the name of CANSWERSTV) whose director is Larry Wessels, another person Morey slandered. Morey fled California in March 2009 when allegations of securities fraud by him in illegally acquiring his church building in Irvine, California arose prompting a state agency (the California Department of Corporations) to investigate.

  • That is the reason I never went to any college, Christian or secular. Who wants to hear about what fool talking about his (or her) credentials for what they bring to the Lord's table. It is totally ungodly. Robert Morey needs to read Psalms 82, it comes to mind. We don't have (talking as a Christian) anything except what the Lord.

My 3 year old can read 40 books a minute, and probably understands as less as Morey. Reading and comprehending are two different things. Anyone can read fast.

  • Too much is involved with a person's credentials. As' we know all or most of the accredited schools are nothing but a bunch of dredge mills. Meaning there is so much put in, but so little comes out of it. People are either willing to learn or they are not. I am someone who has a very high IQ, but I had no want to go to any college.

And my knowledge is not any less than friends of mine who went to Harvard or MIT. Hank Hanegraaf is no less than anyone, except I agree he isn't as driven as Walter

  • @talitha00cumi : Yes, Westminster is "accredited". But Mr. Morey earned an "M.Div" and "Doctor of Ministry", which suggests that he had the intention of pursuing a Pastorate. If he had been inclined towards an "intellectual" vocation in the Church, then he would have gotten a "Doctor of Theology" or "Th.D". Morey's qualifications for "apologetics" and "theology" aren't any more pristine than "Dr. Martin's". Hence, the hoopla Morey makes about his "qualifications" are moot and hypocritical.

  • Morey up and left California? Must have got the idea from Hanegraaff who left Cali because of the "heat."

  • Cognitive, Westminster is accredited.

  • Morey is insane. May God heal him. 1 Joh 4

  • I love it...two so-called christians fighting each other..each accusing each other of lying...lol..so typical of false evangelicals...I agree with both of them Walter Martin did lie and deceive people and he did not have a authentic PHD ..etc...the "fruits" are obvious..these two a liars.
