  • have just bought one of these and I wish I hadn't, the user interface is terrible it's like using a dos programme. Worst thing I have ever bought. Functions are far too basic.

    NOT plug and Play!

  • @idutchix since yesterday I have the Playon!HD and I also don't see extension info so until now I am not able to do anything with torrents... Is yours already working? What did you do to make it work? Where can I find useful information? Thanks, Marco

  • In my menu is no extension info and no login control what to do?

And now i can't configure etc plz help

  • does this thing comes with WEP security??

  • Yes you can just stream through it, installing a hard drive is optional.

I've got one and it is brill. Plays just about everything.

I have trialed a Popcorn Hour A110 and a Lacie Cinema Classic and found this to be much faster in use. I had trouble trying to get the Popcorn to talk to my Windows Vista PC through the USB as I think the Popcorn uses a Linux file system for it's hard drive. The Lacie's file support was limited and it kept crashing (the Popcorn crashed a few times too).

  • Do you need to put a harddisk in it. Or is it possible to stream media without any HDD?

  • Yes. It's faster and it plays Blu-Ray iso's.

  • Even better than a popcorn hour 110?

  • yes, this product is all i need ... it's easy to use and powerful.

  • This player is awesome. I just got it yesterday. Very fast response, very impressive specs. Plays HD 1080p in H.264 format without any problems!!

One tiny error: If you have the player connected to a TV, and then connect it to the PC via USB, you get the Playon!DVR-TV startup screen on your TV! :P

The USB recognition is not optimal in my case (unless you boot the PC with the player connected), but you can use it as a Network drive which works great.

Get it, it's better than any player out there!
