  • @irynadearina That is the truth about Reagan. He was pro life when he mistakenly signed the Therapeutic Abortion Act. The Ronald Reagan that Mitt Romney cavalierly calls "adamantly pro-choice." was not pro choice. In 1976 when he was a presidential candidate, Reagan stated that his signing the miss worded and confusing abortion bill, "I wouldn’t make the same mistake again, I have done more soul searching and studying on the subject than anything else in my eight years as governor.' Try a gain

  • @irynadearina Reagan said, "You can't allow an abortion on grounds the child won't be born perfect," Reagan said. "Where do you stop? What is the degree of deformity [required] that a person shouldn't be born? Crippled persons have contributed greatly to our society." He never wavered in this view.Lawmakers tried to amend the bill in 1970, and Governor Reagan refused: "Who might they be doing away with? Another Lincoln, or Beethoven, an Einstein or an Edison? Who shall play God?".

  • @irynadearina Excuse me, but Reagan was duped into signing the measure because his legal advisors told him it would abortions illegal. Reagan came to "deeply" regret signing the bill. In a period before Roe v. Wade, Reagan didn’t have the advantage of knowing that abortion advocates and courts would misuse the health exception in the bill to allow virtually all abortions to become legal. At the time Reagan regretted as soon as 1968 over signing the bill. His advisers, & Democrats lied to him

  • But what else do you expect from a guy who wears funny underwear and believes that he will become a god of his own planet when he dies?

  • Nice try. Romney and Romney alone was the chief executive officer in Massachusetts solely responsible for enforcing the law. He had total authority over all covered "services" that were subsidized under his own healthcare plan including subsidizing the murder of pre-born babies at 50 bucks a pop.

Romney is blatantly lying when he claims to be "pro life" and he knows it.

  • @777GJ in 2006, Romney had no say over the health care benefit package offered by Commonwealth Care — that was determined by an independent public board called The Connector Authority and grounded in established state court precedent. Romney couldn't have changed that if he tried. Pro-life group has defended him on that charge.

  • @irynadearina and I might ad, Reagan ran on pro-life shortly thereafter. Flip flopper? No. Someone who recognized when he is wrong? Hmm, Sounds like Mitt Romney.

  • @phillip84109 Absolutely true. Romney tried to remove parts of the bill that were funding parts he didn't approve of. Romney was thwarted by the democrats when he stood up to them.

  • @ChuckWolk Are you kidding? Cut n' paste from wikipediaDOTorg. "Early in 1967, the national debate on abortion was beginning. Democratic California state senator Anthony Beilenson introduced the "Therapeutic Abortion Act," in an effort to reduce the number of "back-room abortions" performed in California.[74] " . . .[Reagan] "signed it" Uneducated, "freak? Before you call someone an uneducated freak remember civility please and educate yourself.

  • @cavetrollhead Get educate you freak, Ronald Reagan was never pro choice. How dare you lie about Reagan's stance on this issue. Abortion wasn't even made legal until 1973, and Reagan became a Republican in the 1962. 11 years before the courts legalized womb murder. There is no evidence to even suggest what you claim is true.
