The first two and a half minutes of the 1969 film, Medium Cool raises questions about the ethics and roles of reporters (observers) in our society. Listen carefully for the woman's groans. Notice that the reporters run to get the film, but they casually walk back to the car when finished and then call the ambulance after the stow their gear. Calling the ambulance only took 13 seconds. Notice also the swinging seat belt from above the window inside the car and how quickly it stops moving, which means the woman obviously just fell out of the door.
Why don't they check her vital signs or try and talk to her? Why don't they wait for the ambulance since the motorcycle delivery man (bike man) could have come to them in order to pick up the film?
If you or your loved one was the woman who crashed, what would you have wanted those two men to do for you?
