Leading comfortably against a rival, St. Clairsville (Ohio) running back Michael Ferns broke free and was on his way to a certain touchdown, but he stepped out of bounds at the opponents' 1. He wanted freshman teammate Logan Thompson to get the score

Seriously how could anyone dislike this video? Does it offend you that a young man showed another young man a sign of compassion hoping that it would lift his spirits up?

I go to St. C and honestly, it's the best school I've ever been to. Michael is so nice and I'm aquaintences with his brother. Love you, Mike! Good luck! #RatherBeStC I just love my school so much!

A good analogy that I think may help people understand what is actually going on is as follows. A boy who's dad dies goes up to the plate in a baseball game. He bunts the ball to third base, but instead of throwing him out, the third baseman just holds the ball and lets him run the bases and score since he was trying to be nice to the batter since he knew his dad died. Would this make you feel any better?

You haven't seen what I've seen. Maybe you're a good guy, and I'll take your word for it. The rapists in the Steubenville rape case were Ohio State fans Casey Anthony was seen in an OSU jersey, and the whole OSU culture is based around "Fuck Michigan." That's even more common than "Go Bucks." I'm glad you take this video for what it's worth. If I hear from more people like you then maybe I can change my opinion. The second half of your comment doesn't even make sense. Thanks for the comment.

I'm an Ohio State alum and fan and TLmaizeandCLUEless is an ass. This is an amazing video, of an amazing act, by a wonderful young man...and his team. Who gives a shit where he's going. To paint all Ohio State fans as "scum of the earth" is a sign that you've grown tired of being Ohio State's bitch in just about every athletic contest since the year 2000. Seriously, beat us at something once in a while, then you can jump in your ivory tower without the entire world rolling their eyes at you.

Ohio State drones dislike this video because it says "Michigan commit" on it. Ferns also happens to be the #1 player in the state of ohio, so that also pisses them off. Ohio State fans have a Pavlov's Dog reaction to anything Michigan, even in this case where this young man did something exceptional for his teammate who lost his dad. Ohio State really does attract the scum of the earth.

Also, we live in a small communtiy and Coach McLean never expected this to get recognized this much. Coach McLean and the team were erely showing Logan they were there for him. Edison had no clue what Michael and the team was doing. The refs tried to say Michael got the touchdown but Dan Monteroso argued with them. They blocked Logan. This was merely StC's way of showing Logan that we were there for him in his time of need There is no need for the rude comments.

Listen up, all of the rude comments need to stop. They didn't let him get the touchdown to make him feel better, the players wants to show him that they cared about him. He works just as hard as the othe players and he deserved this. His dad was at every game and Logan went to school the morning his father passed and he went to football practice too. Even in this time of mourning for him, he stayed strong. This was a great way of honoring Logan's father. I am proud to go to StC.

Of course being "handed" a touchdown is not the same thing as pulling it of from regular gameplay. But that's not the point of this gesture. His dad died from a stroke in the bathroom while he was trying to tear down the door with a baseball bat. The same day he went to school and football practice in the afternoon, because that's where he feels at home. So the coach and other players decided on this gesture to show support and cheer him up.
