@jimhofmann Usually called a groove wedge, just an added accessory to give a better sounding and louder cross-stick rim click. A good addition if you don't have wood hoops on the snare, but still like the tone they provide.

Very cool! Show drumming doesn't get a whole lot of love or attention in the general drumming community. It's a totally different beast than many other avenues and it's unfortunate that not a lot of people know about it.
