  • Puppy Mills are different from AKC show breeders in a number of ways. Responsible breeders do planned breedings in order to maintain or improve the quality of the breed. They have a devotion to breeding out genetic problems such as epilepsy, rage syndrome, and glaucoma. The only planning a puppy mill does is breed a female as much as they can until she can no longer reproduce and make money! A show breeder usually loses money every time they breed, because they invest so much in their puppies.

  • Your comment is ridiculous. These dogs need homes ONLY BECAUSE THEY WERE BRED SO SOMEONE CAN MAKE MONEY. There are millions of dogs, purebred and mutts, in shelters across the country that desperately need homes. When you buy or breed, you are contributing to the death of healthy, loving pets.

  • Pet stores that sell puppies and kittens and other live animals do not care about these animals. All they care about is making their wallets fatter They contribute to puppy mills. Dogs and cats at these mills are forced to breed their entire lives while living in cages with no love and care. These puppy mills sell puppies to brokers and brokers sell to pet stores. The dogs and cat at these torture mills never experience love and companionship. Puppy mills are evil and need to be shut down.

  • This is true however... why should an employee be penalized for an ill puppy? AND why would you take a puppy to their vet... you don't know if they are paying them off...

  • No that's not the truth. You get a free visit to that specific vet, because he is the one who checks all the puppies before they are put out to be sold. If anything is wrong, health wise, with the puppy you can bring it back and return it. And if the dog is returned, then there will be a deduction from the sell-persons paycheck.

You can take it to any vet you want, but if you take it for the free vet visit and if something is wrong, you get free meds for the puppy.

  • now they have that one test at petsmart that can help you determine the dogs breed

  • I agree with you.
