Lol!! I got introduced to the backdraft @ the Gold Coast a few years ago Its the Chartreuse that really fuks ya. But we do it the same as SwedishMountainDuck!
-
The purpose of the ice is to force alcohol to condense at once in the glass (the Chartreuse was warmed beforehand if you remember) which causes the fumes to form. After the ice is inserted, the bartender covers the glass with his hand. THAT causes the vapour to stay inside, not the ice. So, without ice there would be no vapour...
-
Yep, the correct order is shot first, then the fumes, then the saucer.
-
@ApertureStatus i believe ice makes the vapor stay inside the glass
-
what is the purpose of the ice? what if you just inhale all of the vapors?

I did it this way last night with absinthe, then the dude started pouring all this tequila on the tray, about 10minutes after I was in the toilet hahah
shot of black sambuca on a saucer and pour flaming chartreuse onto it and sprinkle with cinamon to make the flame.
in New Zealand we do the shot first, the suck th smoke outa the glass and then suck up th remaining stuff off the saucer with the straw.
awesome :)
