CollegeLevelAthletes.com caught an up-close and personal glimpse of standout junior wide receiver George Farmer (WR/2011) at Gardena Serra High School on Friday night. Pete Carroll was in attendance, as he watched 2010 USC Football Commits Robert Woods (Serra) and D.J. Morgan (Taft), go head to head.

  • @thetorplez sucks you have to get most of your talent from our state hahaha looks like we've got the best WR group in the country now, though I'm not surprised.

  • VOTE FOR GEORGE FARMER as 2010 high school football player of the year at la times.com

  • He committed to SC. End of story.

  • How many All-Americans have come out of Eugene? How many NFL Hall of Famers have been Ducks? The answer for all of those questions: not many. George knows where his family is at, George knows where he wants to get his education, and spend the next 4 years playing football.

He knows where he's going to have the best opportunity at the NFL, he knows what coaching staff he's closest to, he knows what team his friends are playing at, and he knows what school is home to him. That's ALWAYS been USC.

  • @thetorplez

I think it's pretty obvious why he's NOT going to Eugene. His dad said it himself, George's first priority is ACADEMICS. Oregon as an academic institution is a joke; a degree out of Eugene is probably worth less than the paper it's printed on.

Regardless if you want to know why he JUST COMMITTED to USC TONIGHT instead of Oregon. Consider for a minute how many players Oregon has put in the NFL the last 5 years? Last 10? How many rose bowls has Oregon won? How man heisman winners?

  • U$c SUCKS WHY WOULD HE WANT TO PLAY THIER FIRST THIER ON PROBATION AND SECOND THEY SUCK AT FOOTBALL AND HAVE A TERRIBLE COACH. Oregon is set at every position but WR and DT. Him Blackmon,Sumler and huff equals best WR core in the Country one more game ducks beat down those lame Eagles

  • If he wants to go to the league he needs to go to SC or Cal, Oregon receivers don't get drafted.

Florida isn't exactly one of the best in terms of education lol, one of the best would be like Cal or USC, both top 25 universities nationally. The reason he's favored USC isn't just because it's close, USC has recruited him from the beginning as a hs freshman, he has a real connection with the staff and players, and he grew up supporting the program. Missing one bowl game isn't an issue because he knows he's eligible to play in one the next 3 years, most of his college career.

  • @FightOn4Evr True that cant knock me for wishful thinking lol and Florida is great for education, one of the best. If anything he will go to USC because it's close. If i were him id want to play in a bowl game. Nobody wants to play florida next year IF meyer gets his head out of his ass.

  • @donthateme210

George isn't afraid of competition, he's gone on record that depth isn't an issue. And he shouldn't be he played with Robert Woods in high school and Woods started at USC as a freshman, George has similar talent and likely will do the same.

His top 4 right now are USC, Oregon, Cal, and Miami. He will not end up in Gainsville, he and his family put too much of a premium on education for that to happen.
