watch this video from about 4:40 in and you'll see what I mean - its the sonny rollins quartet performing st.thomas and 4:40 is pretty much where the bass solo starts.

just try it - it wont let me post links so just search for sonny rollins st.thomas and pick the top one (the black and white live one)

this is quite good, but have you tried peter erskine sticks? I find they make quite a nice sound for stuff like this, even if they do only last for a month tops. Also, generally nice playing - possibly too busy all round, but im guessing you're going for marks, not something that sounds like genuine jazz.

Hey, anyone know how i can get any of the trinity - abrsm - drumschool books either free or cheap? I plan on getting grade 7 and 8 of all 3 and i realise its gonna cost me a fortune!! hehe

WOW!!!!! i'm gobsmacked here, but try and EXPRESS what dynamic it is. If ou're wondering why i'm saying this, ill tell ya. i've been playing drums for just 2 years and i'm grade 7. i started in the middle of year6! But otherwise, I think you're great!!! :P
