HiDef: Canadian National action at Effingham, Illinois - August 13th, 2011 [Canon HF R21 Test Video]

[Watch in HD] On the 13th of August, I took a trip down to the CN/CSX diamond at Effingham, Illinois and eventually met up with Brandon Warnick (84318i) and Colby McLaughlin (colbytrainman). Eager to try out my new Canon video camera I received not too long ago, I got some good catches on the Main Line of Mid-America.

Shot #1 - 10:59 a.m. (0:13)
After meeting A431 and swapping crews at Neoga, the southbound CN A-Train from Decatur heads into Effingham to do work at the yard.

Shot #2 - 12:15 p.m. (1:04)
Amtrak 391 arrives (late, like always) to pick up and drop off passengers. Note the Northeast Regional car behind Amtrak locomotive #27.

Right on the heels of Amtrak was CN M336 with the CN SD70M-2's K5LLA horn blaring.

After the Effingham local did some work north of the diamond (dropped off a grain car for Effingham Equity), CN M397 with a repainted BC Rail Dash 8 leading comes south with work to be done at the yard today. The train eventually slows down once they reach the yard office to pick up paperwork regarding their pickups/setouts.

After meeting Amtrak 391 and CN M336 at Tonti, CN M335 heads for Champaign.
