  • That is a great color scheme KCS used! Marx picked up the ball after Lionel & American Flyer dropped it with their tin-litho diesels in KCS dress!

  • Hats off to KCS for reviving this beautiful paint scheme. This RR has class.

  • My dad worked almost 50 years for the Kansas City Southern railroad. (conductor)

    Wonderful memories.

  • These units are clearly F9s. If you look at photographs of F7s, you will notice there are 4 louvers, all between the 2 portholes. This is also true of the later built F3s. F9s have 5 louvers, 4 between the portholes, & 1 in front of the front porthole, & behind the door going into the cab. You can plainly see this on the KCS units. This is what clearly distinguishes the much rarer F9 from the F7.

  • Always good to see F-units at work. Love to here the good diesels at work, before all the emissions junk.

  • F-7s

  • that's a beautiful paint scheme

  • Fantastic video!! Too bad about the guy in the red shirt getting in the way.

  • You shouldn't be able to tell as the external differences are minimal. It's the mechanicals that make the difference.

  • thats the origional KCS passenger scheme used on the old Southern Belle
