@demmylowther Could you speak up a bit, it's hard to hear your foolishness when your head is so far up your arse.

Ians taking the piss , This song was 1969 and Hotel california was 1976.
Come on Ian enough of this crap , both songs are great
-
My favorite Tull tune. I like how Martin played it with a different sounding guitar.

The reason Hotel California is more popular is simple, the Eagles are a Pop band, Tull is a true Rock And Roll band, huge difference, popularity has nothing to do with the quality of the music, anybody hear of Brittany Spears?
@demmylowther ease up mouthy guy. I don't think Ian has a problem with it, in fact he's always sounded quite proud of the fact the eagles borrowed the tune. If you can be bothered to search, the Eagles are on record confirming they nicked the tune from tull.
Using your method of divining song quality - 'I have always loved you' by that shouty woman who's name i forget would probably the greatest song in the world, ever. Or that one from Titanic. Which is patent nonsense.

Martin Barre makes Buckingham look like an amateur. If the Eagles stole this riff they owe Tull a fortune.
