  • Is the melody of 'here comes the bride' Wagner's? Thats amazing, really changes the way I listen to that tune!

  • Yes. But how does it change the way you listen?

  • It changes it from a generic and quite frankly corny tune to a piece of one of the masters. So now I listen to it with new found respect I guess...

  • okay

  • I think

  • Anyone who hasn't made love to "The Ride of the Valkries" is missing out on a thrilling experience.

    Haaaa.

    Nice video, Grumpy.

  • well, it sure beats Ravel's Bolero.

  • I wonder what Wagner would say if he knew that nearly every modern wedding plays both his and Mendelssohn's wedding marches without a second thought... Probably something anti-Semitic.

  • Wagner sung by a mormon choir?? come on...

Thank You very much.Great stuff. I watched recently "Stephen Fry Wagner and Me" wonderful about hois grand music, deeper meanings ,history, influence ,darker side of him ,even nazism ,wonderful documentary.

  • @ArchiducDeBelgrade I could just tell you, but I'd rather let this very, VERY interesting documentary about Wagner. ;) /watch?v=DGODSPL6LfY It is said that Wagner was the one who introduced the basic concept of cinema. :O

  • @metafixi

Truth. Everything about him is like said monumental. His influence on other composers, music in general is so great. My prof. of music history said once, that Wagner put an"end" on music in romanticism, not just opera, and the way he changed it forever.

  • @ArchiducDeBelgrade Beethoven, Mozart and Bach are often referred to as "The Immortals". None is greater than the other, they're all gods in their own fields. But I've also seen Wagner on the no. 4 spot many times. He definitely deserves it for creating the largest piece of opera in the world. Everything about is absolutely monumental!

  • I read that Wagner is no 4 First is Beethoven Second Mocart Third Bach.

  • IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU LIKE WAGNER OR NOT.

BOTTOM LINE IS THAT HE WAS A GENUIS.!!!!!!

  • Number nine my tail end. Wagner is number one!

  • @Mase251 Seriously. What is the most prolific choir in the United States doing something like singing prolific classical choral pieces?

  • @d0861 I hear you. It's just like his operas. Everything about them reeks of anti-semitism.

  • Wow? Why do we have to care what Jews think about Wagner? They don't care what I think about the Ziononazi state of Isfake!
