This is the Monster Rancher Opening.
Lyrics:
Monsters rule!

I was transported to a faraway land
Into the world where monsters rule
I played the game like an ace
Now we're in this place
To save the monsters from the evil Moo

Monsters rule, Monsters rule
Monster Rancher, Monster Rancher
Monsters rule, Monsters rule
Monster Rancher, Monster Rancher

Monsters rule

Pendent shows the mystery disk
We'll take it to the shrine
We'll redeem that fabled mystery disk
And release the Phoenix inside

Monster Rancher

I was transported to a faraway land
Into a world where monsters rule

Monster rule

Played the game like an ace
Now we're in this place
To save the monsters from the evil Moo

Monsters rule, Monsters rule
Monster Rancher, Monster Rancher
Monsters rule, Monsters rule.

  • I think this is actually better than the jap version. Much more up beat and action oriented.

*ducks in cover for impending flamewar*

  • @MechaEmperor7000 I love you.

  • @SterbenderMoloch Yeah. The english one is arguably better than the japanese one but the german one blows this out of the water. It is a mere translation with slightly different lyrics from the japanese one but with a much better tempo and way more impact vocally, you don't need to know german to understand when shit gets real after 45~ seconds. Always brings a tear to my eyes.

  • My very first anime i belive (without even knowing what anime, or anything at all, was). I think i was about 2,3, or 4 years old. Probably like 3 :D VAGUE MEMORIES T_T<tears of joy

  • Memories!!!*crying*

  • @SoundCinemas Hey slanderous attacks... that's not cool man...

  • Ahh royalties haha how stupid of me to forget how big anime is in japan. My bad.

Translations can be done via cheep agencies and freelance translators also. So I really don't think its easier.

Yeah that's what I was saying, they changed the song and beat to appeal to the youth of that era and area of the world.

  • @palapil Please, if you don't work in the media or have majored in anything related, please shut up. Conspiracy theories from your basement are not valid.

  • @palapil It's cheaper because A) They don't have to pay royalties to other publishers in at least %90 of the cases (Most Japanese music is professional/published artists). B) Most Music is done in HOUSE or through cheap agencies. It's easier because you don't have to spent a lot of time translating a complex language like Japanese when instead you give a composer an outline of the show and that's it. Your argument is also void since they are different cultures different children

  • @SoundCinemas you joking right?

Cheaper? Doubtful, they made a completely new opening song, how is that cheaper than translating and hiring a vocalist.

Easier? Translating a song is harder than creating an original score?

To attract children? wasn't the anime a kids orientated program in japan also? so one can assume the original song was also intended to attract children, so your argument is void.

  • @drickmel They change the opening on animes because: 1) It's cheaper 2) Easier 3) to attract children.

  • The german intro is MUCH better
