(cont) Reagan gave in years ago and comprimised tax increases for spending cuts, and Dems never lived up to the spending cuts they promised. To assure we do not make that mistake again, there needs to be law passed to make sure the cuts get implemented and no one can jack around with them later, and claim they "had to do it"...for the betterment of the country...when doing so kills the foundation of the country. We need a law that makes sure we can not spend more than we take in.

@logn: Yeah...not buying the whole "Neocons" / "WhackoLibs" blame thing. Dems have this crazy notion they can grown an economy by creating more debt...something that has never worked in the history of history. Defense spending is high, but it got us BinLaden. Obama said he would stop the wars, but hasn't. The problem is both sides are still playing politics and not trying to fix the problems. We need the balanced budget amendment and have been saying so for decades. It is time is now.

@WeedaPeople The huge anomaly in the federal budget is the so-called "defense" pie of the entire fund. $650 Billion to enrich the military industrial complex and the various government vendors who you think are "small business" pro-small gov't entities who are NeoCon leaning when in fact they are funded by taxpayers via gov't subsidies, re: Bachman's. Not good enough, so try again tomorrow.

@logn: Okay...Hey Lithuania...You are not America and what you do would not work here...even if it works there...because you do not have the American Government to contend with...who can not reach a budget agreement, who can not be financially responsible and who never do anything in the interest of the people.
*
Was that good enough?
-
@WeedaPeople Say that to Lithuania which is the most Libertarian nation in the world and yet implement a single payer healthcare system.
-
@cund: I am sure it is good in Canada...and good for you that it is. It would not be good here. Our Government could not pay for it. They already can not pay for all the things they want. Government run care would just put us deeper in the hole than we already are...and 14 trillion is a lot already.
-
@logn: You and I have different ideas of caring. Making someone dependent on a Government who can not reach a budget, who can not be financially responsible, and who never do anything in the interest of the people is not caring for someone. It is turning them over to incompetents and putting them at undue risk.
-
@WeedaPeople Simply because it's not a human right does not mean people should not care for each other.

The best Health Care system in the World would be one that would be what works in America Freedom of Choice a very liberal idea. And a what works in France and Japan which keeps prices down. With a combination of Private and Public Health Care where the people can decide for themselves where to get they're insurance what hospitals and doctors to go to. That are Non Profit.
-
Oh and I got an ultrasound done under an hour while there.
Health care is not a "Human Right". Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution (Our list of rights) tells us that health care is a right, neither is food, water, clothing or housing...none of which are provided free by the Goverment.
People CAN and DO live without seeing a Doctor. People CAN NOT live without food. FYI: Food stamps are not free food, they are a subsidy for some people, but they are not available to all.
