  • I get the wide angle one and have no issue with that but still butch I have no idea why anyone would want a fish eye lens (i am not trying to be smart I am just curious if anyone has done anything awesome with a fish eye) only place i see for a fish eye lenses is in a security camera to give me view for your camera? am i wrong?

  • @ShaDoWworldshadow There is a somewhat wider angle of view with the fish eye than the ultra-wide. Mostly I use the ultra wide to avoid the barrel distortion on the edges but sometimes one finds one's self in very tight situations and that extra bit is very helpful. Watch my latest no pants subway ride video... I used the fish eye inside the subway cars... also the Vancouver Skytrain Halloween Party video on this channel. Examples of shooting in very tight spaces.

  • Hi! I have the regular 18-55 mm and i just got the fisheye converter and there is a black ring on the outside. do i need a 16 mm to fix this?

  • @AfterMathLogoDesign Hi...yes. The Fish Eye and Ultra-Wide are designed to be used on the 16mm lens. The black ring is called vignetting and you will have the least amount of that by using the 18mm setting.

  • Thanks for the information I found your vid very helpful. Do you notice any vignette when using the ultra wide converter? Your mic sounds good what are you using? Thanks.

  • @gm9media There is no vignetting with the Ultra Wide when used on the 16mm lens. There is vignetting when used on the 18-55 and this is not recommended at all. My standard rig is the 16mm lens with the Ultra Wide attachment. If you watch my videos, most all of them were shot with that combination. The microphone is the Sony Accessory microphone made for this camera. Keep an eye on the wind sock... it comes off easily and there is no replacement part.

  • Thanks from Gothenburg Butch. This is a really helpful review that clearly shows the enhancement with the Ultra Wide Con. Lens. Just what was needed :)

  • @ShaDoWworldshadow sports photography, skateboarding and bmx photographers use fisheyes. theyre fun.

  • Hey man, thanks for this video.. It was just what I was looking for..!

  • @AfterMathLogoDesign No... the lens works properly on the 16mm lens. It is not meant to be used on the 18-55. You will be quite happy with the 16mm lens too. It is wider angle than the 18mm and most of the time you will prefer that as your normal lens.

  • @butchnews so i should use the 18 mm because i ordered the 16mm (pancake lens) just a couple of days ago?
