My video documentary was created in order to provide consumers with an explanation as to why they find that most advertisers are using sexually explicit content to advertise their products. The explanation is quite simple; Sex sells! During the documentary I offer statistics and research that support this notion. Also, you will find two examples of sexually explicit commercials. One is by the company GoDaddy.com which features Danica Patrick unzipping her leather suit but she stops and tells people to go to the site to see more. The company made huge profits off this advertisement, and the CEO Bob Parson credits this success to the fact that sex sells. Another commercial is by Heineken which features a young man and woman at the bar, when she pours her beer into a glass perfectly, and he tries to mimic it, but his glass ends up overflowing. The sexual content is implicit, yet direct. There is also some photos throughout the documentary featuring ads from the early 90s and 60s that show how much advertising has changed, and which advertisement is credited as the first sexually explicit advertisement to successfully market their product- Woodbury's soap. Enjoy this documentary and keep an open mind!
Well researched !
