The reason these men had to travel to Cuba is because we have a criminal organization operating throughout North America that denies the benefits these injuured workers are entitled too. In fact these workers compensation insurance companies are useles to anyone who is disabled and can't return to former employment. Their only concern is the corporations they are protecting from financial harm, and to torture and murder these "financial liabilities".

Most of the people on medicaid are children. Most of the people on Medicare are elderly. So you are for 3 year olds having to clean the streets along with their 85 year old great great grandmother?

100k a year isn't a whole lot of money either, under the old rules, 1 catastrophic illness would wipe you out!

Definitely food for thought. The "Land of the Free" wouldn't even help out its heroes who incurred injuries through selfless acts. Why? Because it wouldn't be profitable. Sick. France had a solution to this in the 1790s. Execute anyone who doesn't have callouses on their hands.
