  • @Marchperc The guy who left before the season ended when I was a freshman apparently wasn't getting paid enough. He was also working with Gateway's percussion ensemble at the time.

  • OK sax2330 .. let me see if I got this straight ...

Your a senial, arrogant, incompetent, band director tried to start a marching class winter ensemble because he didn't want to deal with RMPA? Something sounds backwards there. Another post mentions your percussion instructor left before the season was over in years past. Hmmmm ... makes me wonder 'bout that lame ass excuse he/she provided to you. (add 2 + 2 my friend)

  • the reason we didnt hav one my junior year (2007-2008) was cuz our band director was, and very much still is, a senial arrogant gentleman who is blinded by his incompetence... he would direct us cuz he didnt "want to deal with RMPA" such a lame excuse, that was actually the same one he gave my freshman year through my senior year... the only reason we had a WP my fresh and soph years was cuz we were lucky enough to find a director that didnt work 4 the skool

  • I would hav to agree with tenorsarefun... not that ur comments arent welcome but he would know best... of course ur comment shows wut other ppl would c if they took the time to watch the video and tried to actually look critically at wut is goin on... he is correct about the years rangeview has had a WP... i attended the skool and we had one my freshman year (2005-2006) and we had one my sophomore year (2006-2007)... however, my junior year and senior year were the years we did not hav one

  • Lastly, I know personally the girl rocking the concert bass. I would agree with you that in this video, she is one of the best (if not the best) performers on the floor for the entire ensemble (especially for never having played percussion before). Affirmative action has led you to believe that she is the best on the floor. Not to sound cocky or rude, but being one of the ensemble captains; I'm sure I'd be much more in place than you would to decipher who is and who isn't the best on the floor.

  • 3. Of the 14 kids in this video, only 7 have played percussion prior to being in this ensemble; of those 7, 3-5 (give or take) would be considered actual percussionists. That being said, I'm not that much surprised with the outcome of this ensemble.

    4. Finances justify the lack of a tarp this season. Our Band director is trying to be as economical as possible; the ensemble was pretty much FREE this year to anyone who wanted to participate.

  • 1. It's actually our first year competing in Marching class, but NOT our overall first year having a percussion ensemble. We had one my freshman year (2007) but we competed In Concert A, so yeah there's been 2 a year leave of absence.

    2. A lot of people are out of step in this video (for parts of the video) however if you look at both Tenor players, their feet are correct for the duration of this entire video. Other errors in the feet can be somewhat justifiable.

  • its close to the end of the season and rangeview doesnt even have a tarp.. ouch. But i guess it is... their first year doing winter ensemble. Off step.. I think the chick playing concert bass is the best on the floor..
